Videoclip
Malin Kleinsmith, SWE VS Anki Adamsson, SWE - Golden Arm 2007

Country
  Sweden.
Date of birth
  September 21, 1979.
Profession

I work as a manager of a reception and a telephone-exchange. I also work as an armwrestler on my free-time, on exhibitions, company-parties, youth clubs, bachelor parties a.s.o.

Time in the sport
  Started 1994.
Weight

62 kg (I compete in the -60 kg class, sometimes -65 kg).

Forearm

33 cm (right arm), 30 cm (left arm).

Biceps

33,5 cm (right arm), 31,5 cm (left arm).

Fighting style

I am very explosive and usually a top-roller, or half-hook, that is with my right arm. I hook more with my left arm.

Toughest opponent

Heidi Andersson, since we started we have armwrestled eachother in the same weight class from now and then. I love chasing Heidi!!! She makes me train HARDER to win against her, but also to keep on staying in the top of the world!!! Sometimes I am able to win, when I am really on fire, I like being the person that chase! She is also my closest armwrestling friend, and the person that I talk to about my ideas about armwrestling. I also like to train with her, when we get the chance! She lives far up north and I live in Stockholm so it makes it difficult for us to train together. But when she is in Stockholm, she sometimes stay at my place, then we try to train together, or only discuss armwrestling.

Toughest match

I have alot of matches that have been tough. But I can´t say that I have had a match that I believe is really tough. The toughest thing is to keep being on fire a whole competition through. Often my matches goes pretty fast! The tough thing is to keep on being mentally focused. THAT IS HARD!!! Especially on a big competition. I also think it is tough to keep the focus when I am the "favourite" and people believe that I will win. I armwrestle the best when I need to prove something, prove that I CAN beat the best, or when somebody is so sure of winning the competition or against me...then I am as best.

Merits

I have alot of Swedish and Nordic championship golds. 2 European bronze, 2 World Championship silver, 3 World Championship bronze and a whole bunch of other golds, silvers and bronzes. I also have a gold in the first professional armwrestling league (PAL) competition for women. But the medal I am most proud of is the one I got on "Blockbrytet 2006, Sweden". I pulled in the mens -65kg class. We where 13 people (me and 12 men), the best from the Nordic countries, with the Swedish Champion, the Norwegian Champion, the Nordic Champion and the former European champion in the mens class. I placed 2:nd, and only lost to the former European Champion Roine Thebo. I also lost one match in the beginning of the competition against the Swedish champion Daniel Augustsson, but in the semi-final I finally beat him.

: )

Best training advice

For me it is important to train at the gym! I only practise armwrestling once a week, the rest of the training is on the gym. I do alot of armwrestling-like exercises with dumbbells, cable cross a.s.o. When I practise armwrestling we don´t only armwrestle at the table. I run my armwrestling club "Team Stockholm Armwrestling" in a Wrestling club in Stockholm, so we use the wrestling-carpet first. There we do some exercises to get strong in the whole body and the arms. Like climbing ropes, armwrestling on the carpet laying down, we have some exercises to train explosivity, we also have a "hand-cycle" that you can cycle with your hands/arms to train the endurence! My advice is to train both armwrestling, with techniques, strength, explosivity, straps AND train at the gym. The mental strength is also very important, and that is the hardest one to train.

Unknown talents

I can shake my eyes really fast! ; )

What changes to the sport would you like to see?

I would like armwrestling to get more known, in the media, in the countries...EVERYWHERE. I love armwrestling and I think that more people out there would too if they only knew that it existed!

Goals

I want to win the Worlds, since I only have placed 2:nd at the Worlds. I also want to keep on staying in the top for many, many years ahead. My goals are also to work with armwrestling more than I do today, or work with sports. I am thinking of studying sports, and maybe start my own company one day.
